The Federal Bureau of Maritime Casualty Investigation publishes a safety recommendation on the occasion of the marine casualty involving the Netherlands Sail Passenger Ship AMICITIA on 21 August 2016, which led to the death of three German passengers by a broken wooden mast. This safety recommendation pertaining to wooden masts is addressed to the operators and owners of such ships.
